Hong Kong Arts Centre (HKAC) has always been at the forefront in cultivating art & cultural exchange ever since its inception 40 years ago. Since 2015, HKAC curated a Hong Kong x Belgium exchange platform with FOCUS, followed by A Taste of Hong Kong at the Les Halles des Schaerbeek, which became the return show of Art Actually. The photo exhibition today is showing the crystals from the Hong Kong premiere of Art Actually.
The programme was based on the principle of contemporary arts encounter and exchange between the twin cities, Hong Kong and Brussels, of which all shared the common language in dance or physical movement and cross into other fields of art.
These photos were taken by one of the most celebrated photographers today, Cheung Chi Wai, as well as his team. He has his taken time and dedication to transform performing arts into an everlasting artwork. Through his and his partners’ insight, we get the chance to relive the performance again and see the soul of the various pieces in a new light.
HKAC is thrilled to have developed this multi-arts exchange with Les Halles des Schearbeek and is grateful for this residence support with V54 for hosting our artists from Belgium as well as all the individuals and friends who have lend their hands to make this possible.
*The opening reception will start at 4:30pm on 24 Oct (Wed) in V54. Public is welcomed to join the gathering.
