How to protect your creations from copying? Ex-deputy chairman of the Copyright Tribunal Anthony Tong will explain basic copyright legal knowledge – how creators can document and manage their works’ copyright, as well as introducing intellectual property and licensing and understanding contracts clauses. Aho HUANG, the Taiwanese publisher licensed multiples Taiwanese comics to France throughout the years, will share his experience in collaborating with European publishers. Creators hoping to reach the Europe market can’t miss the talk!

About the Speakers

Anthony TONG (Managing Partner, Robin Bridge & John Liu, Ex-Deputy Chairman of the Copyright Tribunal of HKSAR)

Mr. Tong has a substantial litigation practice in different areas of intellectual property in both Hong Kong and China and extensive experience in managing and maintaining worldwide trade mark portfolios for international and local companies in various fields of industries. In addition, Mr. Tong has also overseen and supervised quite a number of trade mark, copyright and patent litigations in China, the US, Europe and Australia. He regularly advises on clients’ R&D processes and render professional assistance in various areas of intellectual property.

In 2018, Mr. Tong has been appointed as a member of the Technical Advisory Committee of the Hong Kong Brand Development Council. Mr. Tong is at the same time the Honorary Legal Adviser of the Design Council of Hong Kong, under the auspices of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries. He is a Fellow member of the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators, a Notary Public and a PRC Appointed Attesting Officer.
