Hong Kong Lesbian and Gay Film Festival 2021: Director in Focus - Zero Chou

Director Zero Chou's cinematographic work about Taiwan's LGBTQ+ community has gained her a solid national and international reputation. Perhaps most famous for her “Tongzhi Trilogy” - Splendid Float (2004), Spider Lilies (2007) and Drifting Flowers (2008) - Chou has been awarded Outstanding Taiwanese Film of the Year and two other awards at the 41st Golden Horse Awards, and a Teddy Award at the Berlin International Film Festival. Lately, she has been devoting her time and energy to her Six Asian Cities Rainbow Project: a series of LGBTQ+ related stories happening in six different cities across Asia. Wrath of Desire (2020) - the fourth episode in the series - is a romantic thriller that examines the relationship between gender and desire, which also aims to encourage the audience to discover their own inner selves.
