“Hong Kong Ani-Com Summer 2013” Hong Kong Arts Centre and Angoulême International Comics Festival Presents NEW INSPIRATION: Cross-media and cross-cultural COMICS CONCERT

Shouson Theatre, Hong Kong Arts Centre
7 & 8 June, 2013  (Fri & Sat) 8pm
Tickets are now available at Urbtix

Concerts de dessins®, the “comics concert” initiated by Angoulême International Comics Festival, will be presented by the Hong Kong Arts Centre as one of the featured programmes for its 35th anniversary celebration in June.

Two distinguished Hong Kong comics artists, Siuhak and Little Thunder, will join hands with French comics artists Charles Berberian and Mathilde Domecq, as well as the music team of Concerts de dessins®, including Areski Belkacem, Patrick Baudin, Dondieu Divin, Bobby Jocky, Yan Péchin, to deliver a collaborative on-stage performance that interweaves live drawing with music – these creative talents will produce an “animated” cartoon with hand-drawn comics and high-spirited tune, creating an unparalleled audio-visual experience for all!

In addition, comics professionals Nicolas Finet and Nicolas Albert will host a talk on European comics, and a critique workshop on the works of local budding comics artists. Look out as well for our creative workshop led by Areski if you are interested in comics, animation, music or video art – all the participants will be able to experience the production of Concerts de dessins®, and have a chance to perform in public.
