Starbucks Coffee Hong Kong Partners up with Hong Kong Arts Centre To Launch The Annual “Passion For Art” Campaign

Starbucks Coffee Hong Kong Partners up with Hong Kong Arts Centre
To Launch
The Annual “Passion For Art” Campaign

Four talented local artists created tumblers in this year’s theme Inspiring Moments to raise funds for art education development

This year, Starbucks Coffee Hong Kong partners up with Hong Kong Arts Centre to support the development of the local art community by launching the annual “Passion For Art” campaign with this year’s theme Inspiring Moments. Starbucks invited four extremely talented local artists, each with their own portfolio in different areas of work including Bo Law, Li Chi-tak, Dorophy Tang and Gwen Yip to create Starbucks tumblers with their very own inspiring moments to help raise funds for Hong Kong Arts Centre. For every purchase of the limited edition “Inspiring Moments” tumblers, Starbucks Coffee Hong Kong will donate HK$10 to Hong Kong Arts Centre in aid of art education program “How Art Changed The World”.

Starbucks is passionate about our coffee, our customers, our service and our involvement in the community.   “Starbucks believes in being good neighbors and we’re committed to giving back to the communities where we operate. By sharing the same vision to support arts development and education for the community, it is with our greatest honor and pleasure to join forces with Hong Kong Arts Centre to make a positive impact in the local art community,” said Andrew Nathan, general manager of Starbucks Coffee Hong Kong.  “It is our “Passion For Art” that has inspired and enabled our partnership with Hong Kong Arts Centre to organize this arts and culture annual campaign as our effort to help make a difference.”

It is Starbucks passion to provide a comfortable third place for their customers to have moments of connection with each other much akin to a close-knit community. It is also their passion that makes them strive for excellence, thus providing an uncompromising Starbucks Experience to every customer.

With “Passion For Art”, the four very talented local artists including the up-and-coming young artist Bo Law, world renowned comic book artist Li Chi-tak, traditional Chinese art and design enthusiast Dorophy Tang and award-winning art director Gwen Yip, each created a Starbucks tumbler drawing in first year’s theme of “Passion For Art” - Inspiring Moments, to strike a cord with the local community and hence taking part in this meaningful campaign.

The “Passion For Art” of four local artists participating in the campaign:

Mr. Bo Law: People in Hong Kong is paying more attention to arts nowadays, however, I believe there’s still a lot of room for growth.  With few companies supporting this area, I find this  “Passion For Art” campaign meaningful in particular.

Mr. Li Chi-tak:  I believe that art appreciation is a virtue that needs to be nurtured from a young age akin to gardening. They both take time and effort to achieve development.

Ms. Dorophy Tang: For me, art gives me terrific joyful moments of life.  I hope that there will be more and more people who can feel the same as I do when they do their art.  This is the main reason why I\'m supporting the fund raising program “Passion For Art”.

Ms. Gwen Yip:  People in Hong Kong rarely take drawing and doodling seriously. However, drawing always inspires and makes me happy. Therefore “Passion For Art” is particularly meaningful to me as I can help raise funds and benefit others while doing something that I enjoy.
“We are happy to be co-partnering with Starbucks Coffee Hong Kong to promote and outreach local arts and creativity to the community as art plays an essential part in our everyday life. We are honoured that we are the beneficiary of the campaign this year, which allows us to further strengthen our mission to enrich arts education in Hong Kong.” said Mr. Nelson Leong, Deputy Chairman & Chairman of the Building Committee of the Hong Kong Arts Centre. “This campaign is also a recognition of the dedication and hard work of the Hong Kong Art School in nurturing talents. Bo Law, one of the four talented local artists invited by Starbucks Coffee Hong Kong, is one of our very own graduates from the Hong Kong Art School. We trust that with the unwavering support from the community, both the Centre and the School will continue to shape the cultural landscape of the local arts scene.”
