Animated commercials have made tremendous progress. Although their production period is relatively longer and the cost is high, their editing, effect-enhancing, reformatting and character design processes can be more controlled. These allow imagination to expand infinitely. In our discussion, we have invited two experienced animated commercial directors to share their creative production insights with us.
Pun Pun is one of the founders of ManyMany Creations and ManyMany Productions, employing animation and CG technologies to produce commercials and movies. His works took first-place ranking twice in OMD Best Commercial Survey 2008. His clients include Fortune Pharmacal, Asia Game Show, Intel, etc.
Ellis Lee Ellis founded television commercial production company, The Circus Production. His clients include McDonald’s, Hong Kong Derby and Cup Noodles. His animated commercial Turkey (Brown Restaurant) was granted Bronze prize in the Times Asia-Pacific Advertising Awards 2004’s animation category.
