Assistant Programme Manager/Programme Officer (Performing Arts) [Ref No.: APM/PO (PA)]


Job Duties

To assist in the Performing Arts Team under Programming Department by –

  • Working closely with the Programme Manager in programming and producing the multi-art, performing arts and oversea exchange programme for HKAC;
  • Conducting research, developing proposals for different funding opportunities;
  • Monitoring budget and art-making progress;
  • Coordinating with artists, designers and service provider in production;
  • Maintaining effective communication with Venue and Marketing Department and Audience Development team;
  • Performing any ad-hoc duties as required by the Programme Manager.

Requirements

  • Tertiary education in Arts Management/Performing Arts/Cultural Studies;
  • Knowledge and passion in Contemporary Theatre/Music/Dance/Interdisciplinary;
  • Experience in project management, producing, stage/technical coordination and artist management of at least 2 years;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Photoshop;
  • Enjoy working independently to take leads as well as in a team in deriving programme initiatives;
  • Take pleasure in engaging in artistic creation and managing risk of its creative process.

PERIOD: 12 months’ contract

Job Duties

  • Maintain smooth daily retail activities of business operation on both physical and online shop by supervising part-time Art Shop Assistants
  • Fulfilling and arranging shipping online orders
  • Offer quality sales service to all customers both online and offline
  • Handle visitors enquires and provide information for all venue visitors
  • Perform sales transaction and inventory management
  • Assist and co-ordinate workshops & other projects

Requirements

  • Degree or above in Art / design or related disciplines. Possesses art/design and retail background is a definite advantage. A minimum of two years of related working experience
  • Outgoing, tactful, and have a friendly and helpful personality
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Photoshop, Ai
  • Proven ability to follow up with colleagues to ensure tasks are completed in a timely fashion
  • Ability to work independently, flexibly and under pressure
  • Attention to detail and strong problem solving skills
  • Have good communication skills in Cantonese, English and Putonghua
  • Non office hours’ work, need to work at weekends and public holidays
  • Immediate availability is preferred

Part-time Ushers


Job Duties

  • Provide ushering and front of house service in theatres, assist in house rules and regulations enforcement
  • Perform effective communication with patrons, guests and venue hirers
  • Assist in crowd control to ensure smooth running of events and activities
  • Handle enquiries and provide high standard of customer services for venue visitors
  • Assist in facilities management for maintaining a clean, safe and comfortable environment for all venue users
  • Update signage / poster/ publicity material for the public in the premises
  • Assist with other functions as instructed by Duty Manager

Requirements

  • Holder of HKDSE or above with relevant experience in customer services is an advantage
  • Pleasant, energetic, extrovert and willing to help customers
  • Good communication skills with proficiency in spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin
  • Required to work on weekdays’ evenings as well as in weekends and public holidays
  • Immediate availability is preferred

Internship Programme

Are you interested in gaining experience in the arts and creative industry? Over the years, Hong Kong Arts Centre has offered opportunities to local and overseas university students to gain an exciting and fulfilling experience through our internship and volunteer schemes. Our internship programme provides an excellent opportunity for their students to explore their potential through hands-on work experience, gaining exposure to the different aspects in the operation of the Hong Kong Arts Centre. The learning experience is a stepping stone to a promising future in arts administration and arts education.

Are you art lovers? Do you have time to spare? Join the Hong Kong Arts Centre as a volunteer! Our volunteers come from a variety backgrounds, helping with events and programmes and providing administrative support to the Hong Kong Arts Centre. They are also trained to give docent tours. Volunteers can participate in various types of service, depending on their knowledge, interest and availability. No previous experience is required. Let us know your availability.
