Job Duties

Senior Programme Manager (Film and Media Arts) (Ref: SPM -FM)


Job Duties

Reporting directly to Executive Director of HKAC
 
  • Lead the Film and Media Arts team which comprises of ifva, moving images, media arts, including digital art.
  • Craft long-term and short-term strategies to develop film and media arts for HKAC programmes and create new strategies to achieve renewed programme direction.
  • Form partnerships, introduce new diverse and unique programmes and revise existing progammes connecting with the film and media arts scene to bring HKAC to the forefront of this sector and to bring in new audiences.
  • Enhance existing programmes such as ifva, creating visibility within and outside of the film and media arts world in Hong Kong and beyond.
  • Oversee, monitor,implement film and media arts programmes and track outcomes and results.
  • Build and manage program budgets and find creative ways to increase audience retention.
  • Ensure that the programme and strategy supports and strengthens HKAC’s strategic objectives and priorities.
  • Keep abreast of new digital technologies and innovate, experiment with and pilot new directions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external parties including artists, distributors, professionals from the educational and cultural

Requirements

  • Professional background in the fields of film and media arts.
  • Degree in related disciplines.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in curating, programme planning and development, project management of art and cultural events.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in managing a team.
  • Well-developed professional network, with good connections in the film and media arts scene in Hong Kong (internationally would be an advantage).
  • Solid leadership, problem-solving and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua).

Programme Officer (Public Art) (Ref: POPA)


Job Duties

To work in the Public Art team under Programming Department by –

  1. Working closely with the Programme Manager in the research on the art, culture and humanities, developing proposals and be involved in the ideation process;
  1. Joining the team in supporting the public art initiatives including artist research, management, contracting and coordination with vendors;
  1. Liaising with community members and stakeholders in facilitating creative engagement and consolidating their life experience and insight in constantly informing the programming;

Over the years, Hong Kong Arts Centre has offered opportunities to local and overseas university students to gain an exciting and fulfilling experience through our internship and volunteer schemes. Our internship programme provides an excellent opportunity for their students to explore their potential through hands-on work experience, gaining exposure to the different aspects in the operation of the Hong Kong Arts Centre. The learning experience is a stepping stone to a promising future in arts administration and arts education.

Are you art lovers? Do you have time to spare? Join the Hong Kong Arts Centre as a volunteer! Our volunteers come from a variety backgrounds, helping with events and programmes and providing administrative support to the Hong Kong Arts Centre. They are also trained to give docent tours. Volunteers can participate in various types of service, depending on their knowledge, interest and availability. No previous experience is required. Let us know your availability.
