Administrative Officer


Job Duties

  • Responsible for all-rounded general administrative duties including office support, procurement, office maintenance etc.

Assistant Registrar, Hong Kong Art School


Job Duties

  • Report to the Registrar, Academic Administration of Hong Kong Art School; and Director of Hong Kong Art School when needed.
  • Oversee the management of all academic administrative services e.g. student admission, enrollment assessment, timetabling, graduation ceremony, quality assurance, accreditation exercise, ordinance application etc.
  • Responsible for managing the School’s governance processes and develop/enhance the School’s policies and regulations to ensure it’s in line with the requirements of the governance bodies. Liaise with corresponding government bureaus or professional bodies where necessary.
  • Work closely with the teaching team and the School partners to ensure that the key student lifecycle processes are delivered consistently and accurately.
  • Ensure a proper collection and maintenance of student records and provide necessary statistical reports when needed.
  • Conduct regular review on workflows, guidelines and procedures and make necessary changes to ensure operational effectiveness.
  • Provide secretarial support to School committees.
  • Responsible for the leadership, motivation, support and line management of the staff in the relevant registry areas ensuring that appropriate standards of behaviour, performance and customer care are demonstrated at all times.
  • Monitor the budget control of academic programmes for the School.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor Degree holder from a tertiary institution or equivalent with at least 7 years of relevant experience.

Programme Officer, Cross-disciplinary Arts & Outreach


Job Duties

Working in the Cross-disciplinary Arts and Outreach team, this position is accountable for supporting the programme manager in various administration and operational duties and the key responsibilities include: 

  • Assist and support programme manager in implementing various art projects and programmes.
  • Support in various administration works including preparing agreements, budget management, coordinating with different stakeholders, liaising with artists etc. 
  • Conduct research and develop ideas for the programmes assigned.

Requirements

Part time Event Coordinator, Friends Committee


Job Duties

  • Work closely as Administrator to the Friends Committee (FsC) to develop and grow HKAC membership programmes.
  • Help manage all FsC matters not limiting to meeting notes, agenda, minutes, reports, schedules, finances and accounting, liaison with EDO and general running of FsC activities and admin
  • Monitor and respond to members emails and enquiries
  • Assist to plan, organize and manage year-round events and marketing campaigns with the objective to engage existing members as well as to recruit new members.

Job Duties

  • Provide professional administrative interface between staff and students at Hong Kong Art School, an educational arm of Hong Kong Arts Centre, and deal efficiently with operational matters of the School and respond appropriately to student welfare issues.

Programme Director


Job Duties

This position will report directly to the Executive Director of Hong Kong Arts Centre and work closely with the Arts Programming Committee.

  • Work with Executive Director to craft and develop long-term and short-term strategies that are aligned with the direction and mission of HKAC.
  • Lead the entire Programme Department. Plan and develop annual programmes that support the development objectives and growth of HKAC.
  • Ensure intellectual and curatorial rigour across programmes and build synergy across different art forms.
  • Form partnerships and lead funding applications with government departments and commercial entities. Manage the development of high-quality proposals.
  • Manage programme budget and ensure financial sustainability.
  • Lead the planning of the programme portfolio in order to strengthen the image of HKAC. 
  • Contribute to the development of internal and external communication materials to highlight impactful stories.
  • Coordinate research in programme context such as analysis of art trends and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with different teams to drive the development of the Programme Department.
  • Liaise, network and work with arts practitioners, both local and overseas.
  • Participate in regular committee meetings including the preparation of presentations and take follow-up actions. 
  • Work as part of the senior leadership team to shape and deliver the mission of HKAC and provide visible leadership extending across the wider organization.

Requirements

  • University Degree in related disciplines.
  • Sound and demonstrable knowledge in contemporary art. Experience in curation will be an advantage.
  • Excellent leadership skills and able to lead a team of around 20 staff.

Over the years, Hong Kong Arts Centre has offered opportunities to local and overseas university students to gain an exciting and fulfilling experience through our internship and volunteer schemes. Our internship programme provides an excellent opportunity for their students to explore their potential through hands-on work experience, gaining exposure to the different aspects in the operation of the Hong Kong Arts Centre. Are you art lovers? Do you have time to spare? Join the Hong Kong Arts Centre as a volunteer! Our volunteers come from a variety backgrounds, helping with events and programmes and providing administrative support to the Hong Kong Arts Centre. They are also trained to give docent tours. Volunteers can participate in various types of service, depending on their knowledge, interest and availability. No previous experience is required. Let us know your availability.
