Senior Project Officer (ICH+) (Ref: SPOICH+)


Job Duties

  • Work closely with the project lead to implement the Intangible Cultural Heritage project including but not limited to workshops, exhibition and summit planning, artisan liaison and event planning

Senior Project Officer (Ref: SPO VA): 12 months’ contract / Project Officer (Ref: PO VA): 6 months’ contract


Job Duties

The main duty of the post will be responsible for the organisation and execution of local and international visual art, comics and animation programmes including but not limited to exhibitions, talks, workshops under the supervision of the Programme Manager.

 

Job duties:

  • Conduct research for the projects and prepare for the proposals;
  • Assist with the development and curation of the projects;  
  • Plan and monitor the progress, schedule and budget;
  • Handle art administration work and periodic reports;
  • Ensure efficient internal and external coordination to meet the objectives of projects;
  • Plan and coordinate the promotional plan;
  • Develop a strong network and constructive relationship with local and overseas artists and organisations through various channels; and
  • Participate in audience development plan to enhance art appreciation and strengthen the audience base for Hong Kong Arts Centre.

Requirements

  • University graduate with minimum 3 years of relevant and solid experience. Knowledge in local and overseas contemporary arts, comics and animation arts development will be an advantage;
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in both Chinese and English. Mandarin Chinese will be an advantage;
  • Able to work under pressure with multi-tasking ability;
  • Good interpersonal skills, confidence in working with various partners as a team. Self-motivated, well-organised, detail-oriented, responsible and able to work independently;
  • Proficiency in PC operations g. MS based applications, Chinese Word Processing;
  • Proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator software will be an advantage; and
  • Willing to work on shift or public holidays occasionally.

Job Duties

  • Provide ushering and front of house service in theatres, assist in house rules and regulations enforcement
  • Perform effective communication with patrons, guests and venue hirers
  • Assist in crowd control to ensure smooth running of events and activities
  • Handle enquiries and provide high standard of customer services for venue visitors
  • Assist in facilities management for maintaining a clean, safe and comfortable environment for all venue users
  • Update signage / poster/ publicity material for the public in the premises
  • Assist with other functions as instructed by Duty Manager

Requirements

  • Holder of HKDSE or above with relevant experience in customer services is an advantage
  • Pleasant, energetic, extrovert and willing to help customers

  • Required to work on weekdays’ evenings as well as in weekends and public holidays

Project Manager (Ref: Proj-M PA)


Job Duties

To work in the Public Art team under Programming Department by –

  1. Reporting to the Project Director and work closely with the Programme Manager in the implementation aspects of the artwork production, installation, dismantle and reinstatement.
  2. Leading a compact team in working with consultants and advisors in preparing technical documents to Government for approvals as well as supporting the lobbying and negotiation between stakeholders, local district office, councilor and the communities.
  3. Ensuring a smooth execution of artwork construction including but not limited to site surveying, feasibility studies, construction and dismantle as well as technical compliance.
  4. Maintaining effective communications with the Government’s works departments, vendors, consultants, artists/architects over the design and build process of the artworks.
  5. Facilitating the open-call, tendering in design selection process.
  6. Consolidating reports and regular updates on artworks conditions, public receptiveness, wear and tear, and up keeping of the artwork lifecycle including second life and future usage.

Requirements

  1. Veteran in project and production execution and management across different scales and environments with at least 6-8 years in supervisory level.
  2. Proficient with the compliance and governance requirement by the Government in art events and installations in public/private realms outdoor/indoor.
  3. Resourceful in adaptive situation and experienced in inter-disciplinary practices.
  4. Capacity in viewing technical drawings and report will be advantageous.
  5. Enjoy the process of brainstorming ideas, conceptualization to realization and overcoming challenges with artists/architects in an interdisciplinary teamwork setting.
  6. Willing to work flexible hours and on-site.

Job Duties

To drive art and cultural programmes for the project by -

  1. Curating and producing various forms of art programmes including visual, performance, community and learning that engage audiences and communities.
  2. Working closely with Project Manager in achieving synergy in delivering programmes that are tailored to site specific art interventions.
  3. Researching and assessing the project’s objective-based result by observing from social, economic and environmental level.

  6. Collaborating with other departments and programme teams of HKAC for concerted effort in audience engagement, publicity, education, funding.

Requirements

  1. Tertiary education from University with at least 5 years of experience in Art / Culture/ Heritage/ Event Management is essential.
  2. Passionate about the potentials of the Arts and Culture in society and driving change with urban intervention in Hong Kong.
  3. Knowledge with interest in a wide range of Arts as well as its overlapping area with other sectors will be advantageous.
  4. Enjoy spending time with people and developing enriching relationship with artists, community stakeholders and strategic partners.
  5. Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese are required.

Membership and Programme Coordinator (part time role) (Ref: MPC)


Job Duties

We are seeking a part time Membership and Programme Coordinator to lead Hong Kong Arts Centre’s (HKAC) Bee membership programme and assist in formulating HKAC’s revised Membership Programme Scheme. Working within the Executive Director Office’s team, reporting to the Assistant Manager, the Membership and Programme Coordinator will focus on coordinating Bee events, attract new members and be a key player in developing and executing the revised Membership Programme Scheme.

Responsibilities of Membership and Programme Coordinator (part time):

Lead the Bee membership programme:

  • Organise and prepare meetings, set meeting agendas and take meeting notes 
  • Follow up on issues discussed in meetings
  • Draft member communication and send to members 
  • Communicate and coordinate with HKAC colleagues and external parties for event arrangements, promotions
  • Handle operations support including website updates, inventory updates, member updates, communication and enquiries from members

Assist in formulating HKAC’s revised Membership Programme Scheme

  • Support in developing and crafting the revised members scheme during the conceptualization stage, focusing on details including benefits, technical support, collaboration with external parties, timeline roll out
  • Work closely with HKAC teams including Marketing, Programming, IT, Hong Kong Art School (HKAS), external suppliers
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Manager, Executive Director’s Office

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing or communication
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in marketing, communications roles
  • Experience in digital media, online search would be an advantage
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, attention to detail
  • Strong sense of customer focus, relationship management
  • Self-starter and problem-solver
  • Good team player, able to work with and across all teams including administrative and academic teams, and interacts effectively with all stakeholders
  • Efficient time management, project management skills and able to work in a multi-faceted, dynamic environment
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese

Over the years, Hong Kong Arts Centre has offered opportunities to local and overseas university students to gain an exciting and fulfilling experience through our internship and volunteer schemes. Are you art lovers? Do you have time to spare? Join the Hong Kong Arts Centre as a volunteer! Our volunteers come from a variety backgrounds, helping with events and programmes and providing administrative support to the Hong Kong Arts Centre. They are also trained to give docent tours. Volunteers can participate in various types of service, depending on their knowledge, interest and availability. No previous experience is required. Let us know your availability.
