Project Officer (3-month contract) [Ref No.: PO]


Job Duties

The main duty of the post will be responsible for organising a series of comics and animation programmes including exhibition, talk, workshop, etc. to be held by Hong Kong Arts Centre under the supervision of the Programme Manager.

  • To plan and monitor coordination, schedule and budget of the designated exhibition and related programmes;
  • To handle production and promotion for the designated programmes;
  • To handle art administration work, to ensure coordination internally and externally to meet objectives of programmes;
  • To handle enquiries from general public;
  • To manage the designated programmes in such a manner that helps to enhance arts appreciation and to strengthen the audience base for Hong Kong Arts Centre.

Requirements

  • University graduate with minimum 3 years of relevant and solid experience. Knowledge in local and overseas comics and animation development will be an advantage;
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in both Chinese and English. Putonghua will be an advantage;
  • Good interpersonal skills, well-organised and able to work independently;
  • Able to work under pressure with multi-tasking ability;
  • Self-motivated, responsible and able to work independently, meticulous and well organized;
  • Proficiency in PC operations g. MS based applications, Chinese Word Processing;
  • Proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator software; and
  • Willing to work on shift or public holidays occasionally.

Requirements

  2. Outgoing, tactful, and have a friendly and helpful personality
  3. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Photoshop, Ai
  4. Ability to work independently, flexibly and under pressure
  5. Have good communication skills in Cantonese, English and Putonghua

Requirements

  • Degree holder or above with 5 years of relevant experience in artwork production, artists liaison/ social studies and research/ architecture will be considered
  • Knowledge in the local and international contemporary art scene (fine art, sculpture, installation, design, architecture, public art) is desirable
  • Experience in art outreach, education and audience development are also areas of merit
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office skills (Powerpoint, Excel) Knowledge in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop is preferred
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Responsible, sensitive, open-minded and cooperative

School Facilities Assistant (Part-time, required to work at 7:00pm to 11:00pm)【Ref No: PT-SFA (NS)】


Job Duties

  • Work in different campuses (Mainly in Chai Wan and Shau Kei Wan District)
  • Work in shifts (Depends on the school operation or course schedule , will work from 7 – 11 in the evening and on weekends and Sundays)
  • Equipment and venue settings for the school to prepare for classes and activities, including setting up furniture and equipment
  • Responsible for handling student equipment and checking the various equipment and facilities of the campus, including cameras, camcorders and projectors

Over the years, Hong Kong Arts Centre has offered opportunities to local and overseas university students to gain an exciting and fulfilling experience through our internship and volunteer schemes. Our internship programme provides an excellent opportunity for their students to explore their potential through hands-on work experience, gaining exposure to the different aspects in the operation of the Hong Kong Arts Centre. Are you art lovers? Do you have time to spare? Join the Hong Kong Arts Centre as a volunteer! Our volunteers come from a variety backgrounds, helping with events and programmes and providing administrative support to the Hong Kong Arts Centre. They are also trained to give docent tours. Volunteers can participate in various types of service, depending on their knowledge, interest and availability. No previous experience is required. Let us know your availability.
