Drama Adjudicators of Hong Kong School Drama Festival 2019/20


Job Duties

The Education Bureau (EDB) has commissioned Hong Kong Art School to organize the Hong Kong School Drama Festival (HKSDF) in 2019/20 (Education Bureau Circular Memorandum No.163/2019). The aim of this Festival is to encourage primary and secondary schools to develop drama as a regular co-curricular activity.

 

We invite qualified parties to be adjudicators of the Festival in one or more of the three categories: Cantonese, English and Putonghua. Adjudications will take place from  12 February to 3 March 2020.  Candidates should be available for at least 18 timeslots   (AM slot: 9am – 12nn; PM slot: 2pm - 5pm) during the aforesaid period.

Requirements

  • Experience in theatre and/or drama education (3 years or above)
  • Previous experience in the adjudicating work of the HKSDF will be an advantage

Programme Officer – Moving Images (Ref No.: PO-MI)


Job Duties

  • Coordinate and support the development of moving image programmes;
  • Implement PR and promotional strategies for audience development, prepare publicity collateral and execute media events;
  • Work with different stakeholders such as programme partners, government agencies, commercial supporters, media units and others;
  • Assist in preparation of proposals and reports;
  • Research films and film-related events; and
  • Carry out ad-hoc duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • University degree holders, preferably relevant to film, media arts, creative media and cultural studies;
  • A minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in the field(s) of film festival, arts and culture non-profit, education projects or events organisations; recent graduates are welcome to apply;
  • With excellent organisational skills – possess the ability to be detail-oriented, to prioritise work and to perform multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to deadlines;
  • With excellent interpersonal skills - ability to take responsibility, to work well as a team member and to work independently;
  • Genuine curiosity, passion and knowledge in the art of moving images, and an interest in sharing them;
  • Good command of Cantonese and English; knowledge of Putonghua will be an advantage; and
  • Proficient in MS Office, technical knowledge in Photoshop, Illustrator and film/video production is a plus.

School Facilities Assistant (Part-time, required to work at 7:00pm to 11:00pm)【Ref No: PT-SFA (NS)】


Job Duties

  • Work in different campuses (Mainly in Chai Wan and Shau Kei Wan District)
  • Work in shifts (Depends on the school operation or course schedule , will work from 7 – 11 in the evening and on weekends and Sundays)
  • Equipment and venue settings for the school to prepare for classes and activities, including setting up furniture and equipment
  • Responsible for handling student equipment and checking the various equipment and facilities of the campus, including cameras, camcorders and projectors
  • Provide operational support to all departments of the school, including the delivery of documents between campuses, transportation of heavy equipment, general furniture and maintenance of equipment in school

Job Duties

  • Provide ushering and front of house service in theatres, assist in house rules and regulations enforcement
  • Perform effective communication with patrons, guests and venue hirers
  • Assist in crowd control to ensure smooth running of events and activities
  • Handle enquiries and provide high standard of customer services for venue visitors
  • Assist in facilities management for maintaining a clean, safe and comfortable environment for all venue users
  • Update signage / poster/ publicity material for the public in the premises
  • Assist with other functions as instructed by Duty Manager

Requirements

  • Holder of HKDSE or above with relevant experience in customer services is an advantage
  • Pleasant, energetic, extrovert and willing to help customers
  • Good communication skills with proficiency in spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin
  • Required to work on weekdays’ evenings as well as in weekends and public holidays
  • Immediate availability is preferred

Are you art lovers? Do you have time to spare? Join the Hong Kong Arts Centre as a volunteer! Our volunteers come from a variety backgrounds, helping with events and programmes and providing administrative support to the Hong Kong Arts Centre. They are also trained to give docent tours. Volunteers can participate in various types of service, depending on their knowledge, interest and availability. No previous experience is required. Let us know your availability.
