HONG KONG SHORT FILM: NEW ACTION EXPRESS – Local Short Film Highlights and Seminar on Pitching Strategies for Film Festivals and Markets
This August, NAE is bringing to you a series of local short film online screenings and an online seminar on pitching strategies for film festivals and markets!
Production fund raising and project collaboration seeking may be a few of vital challenges that most young filmmakers struggle with. Hereby filmmakers and professionals will share in the seminar their experiences on pitching strategies and further network expansion at international festivals and markets. By sharing individual foresights to industry fellows, the seminar hopes to bring together young filmmakers and professionals in the industries to examine potential addresses for filmmaker’s further development and creation. Screenings on local-awarded short film titles will be held along with the seminar. Over 20 local short films that have exposed to various festivals overseas will be brought back and offer you special online film screenings. Directors will also share their experience and inspiration gained from the overseas festivals at the after-screening discussions.

HONG KONG SHORT FILM: NEW ACTION EXPRESS (NAE) aims at broadening the horizons of Hong Kong creative talent and helping them gain exposure abroad. This August, NAE is bringing back selected award-winning titles that have been screened at various festivals overseas to the online platform for Hong Kong audience to revisit the stories that we take pride in. The screenings are open for FREE registration on a first-come-first-served basis.

Organised by the Hong Kong Arts Centre and sponsored by Create Hong Kong (CreateHK) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the HONG KONG SHORT FILM: NEW ACTION EXPRESS (NAE) provides subsidies for Hong Kong short film and animation filmmakers to participate in international film festivals and competitions. NAE aims at broadening the horizons of local creative talent and helping them gain exposure abroad. Successful applicants will receive subsidies to cover the costs of a round trip air-ticket, hotel accommodation and festival/competition event pass with an expenditure ceiling of HK$50,000#.
