As bodies of water, they unite all lands while sculpting them into unique landscapes.
Reflecting on how a diverse ensemble of musicians come together like water droplets through Drip Music, this season’s 440 concert pays tribute to the many ways of water. With a cross-cultural set list, we will encounter its different textures, forms, and temperatures as we traverse the seasons and different landscapes through music.
Leading us through this sensational journey are Icelandic singer-songwriter JFDR, Greek singer-composer Magda, and Japanese drummer-percussionist Keita Ogawa, along with a dynamic group of local musicians including Teriver Cheung, Joyce Cheung, CY Leo, Nelson Fung, Walter Kwan, Sean Lai, Rebecca Li, and Jazz S.H.E. While all artists have their own cultural narratives, they converge harmoniously as one in AQUA.
Committed to developing Hong Kong musicians, the "440" series is part of the "Ensemble Transience: Jazz Across Boundaries — Outreach & Incubation" programme.
"Ensemble Transience: Jazz Across Boundaries — Outreach & Incubation" is financially supported by the Arts Capacity Development Funding Scheme of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
