Title: Life in Rainbow
Artist: Noble Wong
Artist Statement:
Combining layers of geometry with silhouettes of subjects from the estate environment, this colourful mural celebrates the unique lifestyles of Cho Yiu Chuen residents. This mural tells stories by outlining people's activities, animals, and plants, intertwining with the estate's unique hexagonal and square architectural structures and facilities like a swimming pool, balcony, and playground along the bridge's walls. The stories can be read in a timeline fashion, and the different stages of the residents' lives are symbolised by a “growing tree” along the piece.
Colour-changing lights run the length of the glass ceiling via the transparent butterflies' stickers, constantly changing the bridge’s appearance. With the colourful mural, people like walking through a rainbow, and the whole installation brightens up the estate and cheers the residents.
Mural Art depicts the stories of the residents, transforming the inner side of a passing bridge into a storybook that brings a pleasant reading experience to people.
