As artificial intelligence permeates every aspect of our lives, our identities are constantly being verified, quantified, and collected. Tasks once considered uniquely human are now performed by machines. Against this backdrop, the simple act of "please verify you are human" becomes strangely surreal and deeply thought-provoking.

CAPTCHA, a symbolic boundary between humans and machines, gathers human behavior to train algorithms, blurring the line between the two. The more we verify ourselves, the more we become tools for machine learning. This absurd and repetitive process raises a deeper question: do we still control our own identities, or have we surrendered them?

This artwork transforms verification into a ritual—transforming it into an experience that oscillates between play, declaration, and submission. Participants kneel to activate the installation, entering an endless cycle of verification. As the process accelerates, its futility becomes clear, prompting us to ask: why do we verify, and for whom?

"Please Verify You Are Human" questions the commodification of human behavior in the name of technological progress. It draws attention to the quiet erosion of agency in an era where convenience often comes at the cost of individuality. The work asks us to reflect on the social contracts we accept with automation: Is the promise of efficiency worth the price of control? Are we complicit in shaping a future where humanity becomes obsolete?
