Not knowing whether readers would understand all the drawn up and deliberated stories at hand? Why not show them to the masters!
We all go to our friends for brainstorming ideas that turn the working story into a reasonable, exciting and fascinating one. And if you are still feeling stuck, why not hear from comics professional of different backgrounds? With new thoughts come new inspirations in styles, plots and materials that can enhance your work, you may even see for the work’s potential to European readers!
HKAC is launching an open-call for drama comics proposal from June 15 to July 31, comics drafts, plot ideas, even drama comics already published in Hong Kong but have not licensed to be published overseas are all welcomed! Our guests this time are two veteran French comics editors and publishers who have very strong background in drama comics. They come from French publishing houses that value experimentation and the comics artists’ creative ambitions. Many of the published works won numerous international awards.
The two masters will choose 20 works among the submitted projects and come to talk one-on-one, face-to-face with the artists in Hong Kong this mid-August! Who knows, it may kick off something really big!
Rare is the chance and it’s even free-of-charge. So go check everywhere, delve deep into the forgotten piles, retrieve your hidden gems!
