The Chinese character 靈 (Ling) summons the ancient shamans who once prayed and danced to bridge the gap between spirits, the heavens and the Earth. They prayed for rain. Rain is water, and water symbolises the flow of all human emotions and sentiments.
Titled ‘靈‘ (Ling), this year’s graduates view creation as a medium of ritual—a tender and honest dialogue with their inner selves. This exhibition allows such private moments to sow the seeds of creativity and sentimentality that eventually branch outward into the social sphere. It invites the audience to step into the transformation between intangible feelings and physical objects and to experience these intimate moments of growth as the graduates find their path to self-discovery and actualisation.
