'Heavy Metal Remediation Lab'
‘Heavy Metal Remediation Lab’ focuses on heavy metal remediation in urban soil, integrating art, design, and biotechnology to address environmental challenges through participatory methods. In a series of workshops, participants will learn to craft mycelium-based plant pots and cultivate hyperaccumulator plants capable of absorbing heavy metals. Rooted in the unique hybrid environment of Tai Kok Tsui, this project invites the community to explore the intersection of biology and design, fostering a renewed understanding of urban micro-ecologies. It is both an artistic and ecological collaboration—a shared journey of co-learning and future restoration with microbes and humans.
