If humans can ‘bend in the wind’ like branches and ‘bow as the earth and sky moaned’, will our lives would be easier, following the rules of the seasons and accepting ‘life & death’ as we grow?
Inspired by Thich Nhat Hanh’s “Fragrant Palm Leaves”, we want our audience to rediscover their own zen and mindfulness in the everyday amidst the busy urbanscape, especially through understanding and looking deeply at the trees around them, reminding them of the Teacher’s words.
By curating a walk-performance, the audience will be invited to rediscover the city through new lens, enjoy the peace of the night and recall it during the day to ground themselves. We want to present a contrasting area in the city that bustles during the day but calms at night, has a deep rooted history with the community and ‘nature’ within our cement walls.
Where’s better than Wanchai with its many stories and history with trees that goes back to the 1980s with its urban initiative?
