Annecy International Animated Film Festival and Market 2019

Venue: Annecy, France
Date: 2019.06.11 - 2019.06.14

"HONG KONG SHORT FILM: NEW ACTION EXPRESS" (NAE) is a scheme launched by the Hong Kong Arts Centre with the sponsorship by Create Hong Kong (CreateHK) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, aiming to promote excellent Hong Kong short films and videos locally and abroad. Local talent are sponsored to attend international film or short film festivals and first-class cultural events overseas, with a view to introducing the talent to global audiences and for them to engage in rewarding exchanges. Talent as such form the backbone of our creative industries, who make Hong Kong a unique and vibrant creative hub in Asia.

Striving its best in promoting local animation works and bringing in new insights into local animation market, NAE is participating in the Annecy International Animated Film Festival and Market 2019 for the first time. Seeing the significant growth in the production of animated works in Hong Kong in recent years, it has become utterly crucial for these works to be screened and distributed in order to further propel the development of local animation landscape. By participating in one of the major animated film festivals in Europe, NAE aims at proactively bridging Hong Kong animators and their works with global potential buyers and distributors while continuously presenting local animations to the world at the same time.

The Annecy International Animated Film Festival and Market 2019 will take place from 11 June to 14 June at Lake Platform, Imperial Palace, allée de l’Impérial, Annecy. Along with a promotional booth at the market for Hong Kong animations, an Animation Screening will also be arranged by NAE on 12 June to showcase 8 incredible Hong Kong awarded animated works created by Hong Kong animators to overseas audience.
