From the neon-lit urban jungle of the big city to the authentic beauty of nature's forest, colour and composition are integral to capturing the vibe of both cityscape and landscape. How to accentuate the majesty of skyscrapers, the sleek lines of modern architecture, the lushness of trees or the curvature of a bird's body? This course will show you! 

 

Using felt tip markers, paints, and oil pastels, children will: 

- Enliven black and white images with colour and shape 

- Learn paint mixing techniques to create different shades and tints 

- Consider composition and placement of elements in an artwork 

- Sketch on a black painted layer using a scratch tool to create dynamic contrast against a dark background

Tutor 

LO Man Him Virginia graduated from the Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) (majored in painting) and Master of Fine Art programmes which are jointly presented by the RMIT University and Hong Kong Art School. Prior to that, she learned about landscape painting under the instruction of Chinese painting master, Mr. Liang Boyu. Then, she further studied landscape painting and character-painting with painting masters, Mr. Luo Zushan and Luo Guanxi respectively. She is currently a part-time lecturer of Hong Kong Art School.
