Proudly Presents the Preface of the First-ever Co-produced Animated Feature: Dragon’s Delusion

showcases the uniqueness of Hong Kong cyberpunk

 

Hong Kong Arts Centre (HKAC), will be presenting the Preface of its first-time co-produced animated feature, Dragon’s Delusion, in the moving image programme “Independently Yours – Future Pictures” at Louis Koo Cinema, Hong Kong Arts Centre on 11 December, 2020.

 

Initiated by the Hong Kong-based comic and animation artist, Kong Khong-chang (Kongkee), Dragon’s Delusion is an animated project in collaboration with other two animators, Lee Kwok-wai and Tsui Ka-hei, Haze. This unique project is in Hong Kong cyberpunk style and is a co-production with Hong Kong Arts Centre, for which it is the first time to engage in producing an animated feature film.

 

Setting in a world where humans, cyborgs and androids live together, Dragon’s Delusion tells a story of a robot searching for its own soul. Lau Chun-him, Jennifer Yu and Kaki Sham, the three actors who for the first-time act as voice actors, have made a set of portrait photo shooting in the theme of cyberpunk for this animated film.

 

Dragon’s Delusion – Preface will be screened along with five other short films under the “Independently Yours – Future Pictures” at Louis Koo Cinema, Hong Kong Arts Centre on December 11, 2020, local audience for the first time will be able to enjoy the Hong Kong short film selection on the big screen!

 

Six cherry-picked short films picturing the near and far future will be presented in “Independently Yours – Future Pictures”. Besides Dragon’s Delusion – Preface, the other programme in the loop including GwanGong VS Alien; Hong Kong will be destroyed after 33 years; Wisdom Tree; 21³ and Back to Base.

From 2019 to 2020, we were brought into so many exceptional challenges like never before. Numerous of cancelled events, disrupted plans, and unpredictable consequences – when the future imagined might never come, disappointment, anger and frustration grow among us.

 

Yet, we picture the future, mostly because we believe and hope that the best is yet to come at the first place. These longing and imagination in your head are the last things that others can hardly take away from you. As such, the hardest the times are, the more we should imagine.

 

In the coming December, Independently Yours – Future Pictures presents to you 6 short films picturing the future far and near. Through immersing into the unique future worlds, together we imagine: as 2020 is coming to an end, how shall our 2021 be?

 

GwanGong VS Alien
