Programme Officer, Cross-disciplinary Arts & Outreach


Job Duties

Working in the Cross-disciplinary Arts and Outreach team, this position is accountable for supporting the programme manager in various administration and operational duties and the key responsibilities include: 

  • Assist and support programme manager in implementing various art projects and programmes.
  • Support in various administration works including preparing agreements, budget management, coordinating with different stakeholders, liaising with artists etc. 
  • Conduct research and develop ideas for the programmes assigned.
  • Generate marketing and promotional content for website and social media. Responsible for website updating and work closely with marketing department for programmes promotion.
  • Assist in preparing proposals, funding applications and reports.
  • Ad hoc tasks as assigned by superiors. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree obtained within the last 3 school years (2022-2023, or 2023-2024, or 2024-2025). Fresh graduates are also welcome.
  • Experience in art administration, planning and organising arts programmes is an advantage.
  • Good project management, research, communication and negotiation skills. Excellent team player who is able to work independently.
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator or design software will be an advantage.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
  • Possess good understanding of new technologies, including online and on-site digital platforms that facilitate discovery and learning of our programme offerings.
  • Creative, meticulous and with passion in contemporary art & art education.

Senior Admin & Procurement Officer


Job Duties

  • Conduct end to end procurement processes including tender, RFQ, contract renewal, purchase requisitions, purchase orders and for HKAC’s central procurement.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to determine specifications and requirements of assigned sourcing projects.
  • Conduct price analysis to ensure compliance with procurement policy and work with manager to review the suppliers’ performance regularly.

Senior Manager, Fundraising and Projects


Job Duties

    1. Fundraising and Partnership Development
  • Work closely with Executive Director and Development Committee to develop and grow HKAC fundraising programme.
  • Lead and manage all fundraising activities, explore new income streams, and keep improving existing fundraising operations’ effectiveness.
  • Plan and execute large-scale event-based fundraising activities such as charity galas, golf event, art auctioning event etc.
  • Identify and liaise with potential corporate sponsors and partners, building and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Develop fundraising event proposals and programs, and pitch to prospective sponsors.
  • Manage fundraising event budgets to ensure sound financial performance.
  • Follow through after events with event wrap up, logistics and donor communications.
  • Collect and analyze fundraising event data, provide feedback and recommendations for improvement.
  • Assist in maintaining members’ database.
  • Not responsible for soliciting or managing individual donations.

        2. Projects

  • Work closely with Executive Director in developing and executing new initiatives. Participate in or lead projects managed by ED office.
  • Communicate and present the project ideas and proposals to different stakeholders.
  • Prepare and develop proposals for funding applications of projects. Plan and oversee programmes and projects as needed, after funding is approved.
  • Manage and work with other team members during project planning and project execution.
  • Liaise with internal and external parties to ensure both the project quality and timeline can be met.
  • Assist in reviewing pitching decks or presentation materials to ensure consistent and high quality standards.

Requirements

  • Degree or above holder in marketing, communications, public relations, event management, or other relevant disciplines.
  • At least 10 years of work experience, with minimum 5 years of managerial experience preferably in the field of fundraising and/or event management.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful fundraising events is a plus.
  • Excellent execution, organisation and problem-solving skills, and able to work independently.
  • Multi-tasking; adaptive to changes and able to work under pressure and with tight deadlines.
  • Proactive, outgoing and presentable; able to communicate at all levels.

Programme Manager (7 months’ contract)


Job Duties

  • Project management and coordination including manage and deliver the arts programmes as agreed with the funder.
  • Monitor the progress of all programmes and ensure all the art installations can be completed on time.
  • Oversee contract negotiations for overall art programmes e.g. artist agreements, contractor agreement etc.
  • Liaise with different stakeholders e.g. funder, land developer, community members, contractors and commissioned artists.
  • Resolve any issues that arise during fabrication, installation and construction of the artworks.
  • Follow up and manage the de-installation of the artworks after the display.
  • Monitor project budget, schedule and scope of work.

Administrative Manager (Hong Kong Art School)


Job Duties

  • To oversee academic programme administrative services, e.g. student admission, enrollment, timetabling, programme operation, exchange and scholarship logistics etc.
  • To assist in quality assurance and academic accreditation.
  • To conduct regular review on workflows, guidelines and procedures, and to liaise with internal and external parties, including academic collaborators, to ensure operational effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Degree holder with at least 7 years of relevant working experience in tertiary education sector, or other related fields.

  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English and Chinese. Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred.

Assistant Manager – Venue Operation


Job Duties

  • Responsible for day-to-day venue and event related services including venue booking enquiry, venue hire packages and offers, contract management and payment follow-up, site visits, client liaison, insurance and safety arrangement etc.

Job Duties

  • Manage and deliver the arts programmes of the Hong Kong Arts Centre. 
  • Participate and lead various arts programmes in different art forms.

Lecturer / Programme Coordinator (Hong Kong Art School)


Job Duties

  • Teach and assess students at all levels and supervise their project works.
  • Act as programme coordinator in development and delivery of the high diploma programme at various levels. Support curriculum and new course development if needed. Ensure the assessments methods, learning materials and methods of delivery do meet the learning objectives.

Chief Theatre Technician


Job Duties

  • Perform all aspects of stage and event operations in stage and multi-purpose areas with a view of ensuring the set-up, rigging, rehearsal, performance and strike-out are carried out smoothly and safely.
  • Provide the technical and operational support to stage and theatre performance to be held at HKAC and ensure all technical requirements are fulfilled in a safe and professional manner.
  • Participate in supervising the teams and delivering staff training to ensure the up-to-date theatre technology and industry best practice is being enforced. 
  • Assist in monitoring freelancer and supervise the progress of setup and dismantling of the events if needed.
  • Contribute in the maintenance plan including but not limited to review the life cycle and infrastructure of the technical equipment regularly, scheduling the preventive maintenance etc. 
  • Required to work on rostering and shift duty.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years or above relevant experience in technical and productions support for theatre, cinema operations and stage operations.
  • Experience in sizable performing arts venues or companies at supervisory level will be an added advantage. 
  • Independent and highly-organized.  
  • Able to guide and lead the technicians and freelancer.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Experience in AutoCAD drawing is preferred.
  • Good English and Cantonese.

Over the years, Hong Kong Arts Centre has offered opportunities to local and overseas university students to gain an exciting and fulfilling experience through our internship and volunteer schemes. Our internship programme provides an excellent opportunity for their students to explore their potential through hands-on work experience, gaining exposure to the different aspects in the operation of the Hong Kong Arts Centre. The learning experience is a stepping stone to a promising future in arts administration and arts education.

 

Internship opportunities are available for the following categories

  • Events & Visitor Service; 
  • Programmes (screening, exhibition, performance, learning);
  • Strategic Development & Membership;
  • Marketing & Promotion

Application period

We accept applications throughout the year, and opportunities are available on a full or part-time basis.

 

Requirements

  • University student aged 18 or above;
  • Holder of the Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card or possess a valid visa permitting internship in Hong Kong; and 
  • Be enthusiastic about our vision and mission.

 

Statutory Minimum Wage

Have to fulfil the following exemption criteria for Statutory Minimum Wage:

  • arranged or endorsed by the education institutions providing the programmes; and
  • form a compulsory or elective component of the programmes.

Volunteer

Are you art lovers? Do you have time to spare? Join the Hong Kong Arts Centre as a volunteer! Our volunteers come from a variety backgrounds, helping with events and programmes and providing administrative support to the Hong Kong Arts Centre. They are also trained to give docent tours. Volunteers can participate in various types of service, depending on their knowledge, interest and availability. No previous experience is required. Let us know your availability. 

 

Requirements

  • Aged 18 or above;
  • Holder of the Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card;
  • Fluent in at least one of the following languages: Cantonese, Mandarin, English; and
  • Be enthusiastic and enthusiastic about our vision and mission.
