Programme Officer (Visual Arts) (4-month Contract)


Job Duties

  • Plan and monitor the progress, schedule, quality and budget of assigned projects.
  • Handle art administration work and prepare periodic reports.
  • Assist in the development and curation of projects.
  • Plan and coordinate promotional activities for assigned projects.
  • Develop a strong network and establish constructive relationships with local and overseas artists and organisations through various channels.
  • Ad hoc tasks as assigned by superiors. 

Requirements

  • Graduates of associate degree / higher diploma or above of local or overseas institutions within the last 3 school years (2022-2023, or 2023-2024, or 2024-2025) are welcome. Fresh graduates are also welcome.
  • Interest and passion for arts, culture, comics and animation.
  • Knowledge of exhibition design, production and technical support.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in both Chinese and English. Putonghua will be an advantage.
  • Able to work under pressure with multi-tasking ability.
  • Good interpersonal skills and confidence in working with various partners as a team.
  • Self-motivated, well-organised, detail-oriented, responsible and able to work independently.
  • Proficiency in P.C. operations e.g. MS based applications, Chinese Word Processing.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and video editing software will be an advantage.
  • Permanent resident of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region aged 18 or above.
  • Willing to work on shift or public holidays occasionally.
  • Immediate available is highly preferred.

Administrative Officer (Hong Kong Art School)


Job Duties

  • Provide administrative support to the office daily operation, including handling email and phone /walk in enquiries and manage the reception/enrolment counter.
  • Handle complaints and follow up with relevant parties, and compile complaint report.
  • Provide administrative duties to school functions including student admission, student registration and enrolment, tuition fee payment, financial aid, financial reports, and student activities.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders for students and school activities.
  • Assist in organization of school functions, events and activities.
  • Provide administrative support in administrative operations, procurement and facility management.
  • Other ad hoc tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Tertiary education with a minimum of 2 years of relevant administration working experience, preferably in school services
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese (including Mandarin).
  • Excellent time management and able to prioritize tasks.
  • Well-organised, systematic with multi-tasking ability.
  • Proactive, flexible, detail-oriented, customer-oriented, good telephone and customer handling skills, with strong sense of responsibility and good problem-solving skills.

Assistant Manager, Registry & Projects (Hong Kong Art School)


Job Duties

  • Assist superior to manage the overall registration-related matters and specified School projects.
  • Support School management team in the School governance processes.
  • Coordinate and support the quality assurance and accreditation processes of the School.
  • Oversee and administrate the scholarship and sponsorship.
  • Work closely with different teams to ensure the messages to alumni and students are well delivered and cascaded. 
  • Coordinate annual cycles of School gallery exhibitions from start to finish including managing open call, arranging selection panel, handling artist liaison, assisting in installation/dismantling, cost management etc.
  • Collaborate with marketing team for School’s events and/or exhibitions as needed.
  • Promote and manage the library as a learning environment and public space for staff members, students and the Hong Kong Arts Centre community.
  • Provide operational support to School functions and events whenever appropriate.
  • Attend School committee’s meetings if necessary.
  • Any duties as assigned by superior.

Requirements

  • Degree holder with a minimum of 5 years’ experience. Have exposure in educational institutions is a must. 
  • Well-organised, multi-tasking and self-driven. 
  • Detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure with excellent time management and problem solving skills.
  • Team player and able to work independently with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Immediate available is an advantage.

School Facilities Assistant (Part Time)(PT-SFA (NS))


Job Duties

  • Responsible for setting up the classrooms in accordance with the teaching requirements provided by supervisor or lecturers.  
  • Support the equipment rental and classroom booking by students.
  • Assist in school operations e.g. maintain the cleanliness of the classrooms; ensure the classrooms are being locked when not in use; update and post notices/memos on student notice boards; manage printing requests from students etc. 
  • Handle tutors’ requests if needed.
  • Any ad hoc tasks/projects assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Working Location : Chai Wan Campus
  • F.3 or above, preferably with relevant working experience
  • Ability to verbally communicate in Cantonese and simple English
  • Possession of good team spirit, being hardworking and responsible will also be prioritized advantages

Part-time Ushers


Job Duties

  • Provide ushering and front of house service in theatres, assist in house rules and regulations enforcement
  • Perform effective communication with patrons, guests and venue hirers
  • Assist in crowd control to ensure smooth running of events and activities
  • Handle enquiries and provide high standard of customer services for venue visitors
  • Assist in facilities management for maintaining a clean, safe and comfortable environment for all venue users
  • Update signage / poster/ publicity material for the public in the premises
  • Assist with other functions as instructed by Duty Manager

Requirements

  • Holder of HKDSE or above with relevant experience in customer services is an advantage
  • Pleasant, energetic, extrovert and willing to help customers
  • Good communication skills with proficiency in spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin
  • Required to work on weekdays' evenings as well as in weekends and public holidays
  • Immediate availability is preferred

Internship Programme

Are you interested in gaining experience in the arts and creative industry? Over the years, Hong Kong Arts Centre has offered opportunities to local and overseas university students to gain an exciting and fulfilling experience through our internship and volunteer schemes. Our internship programme provides an excellent opportunity for their students to explore their potential through hands-on work experience, gaining exposure to the different aspects in the operation of the Hong Kong Arts Centre. The learning experience is a stepping stone to a promising future in arts administration and arts education.

We accept applications throughout the year, and opportunities are available on a full or part-time basis.

 

Requirements

  • University student aged 18 or above;
  • Holder of the Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card or possess a valid visa permitting internship in Hong Kong; and 
  • Be enthusiastic about our vision and mission.

 

Statutory Minimum Wage

Have to fulfil the following exemption criteria for Statutory Minimum Wage:

  • arranged or endorsed by the education institutions providing the programmes; and
  • form a compulsory or elective component of the programmes.

Are you art lovers? Do you have time to spare? Join the Hong Kong Arts Centre as a volunteer! Our volunteers come from a variety backgrounds, helping with events and programmes and providing administrative support to the Hong Kong Arts Centre. They are also trained to give docent tours. Volunteers can participate in various types of service, depending on their knowledge, interest and availability. No previous experience is required. Let us know your availability. 

 

Requirements

  • Aged 18 or above;
  • Holder of the Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card;
  • Fluent in at least one of the following languages: Cantonese, Mandarin, English; and
