Assistant Manager – Venue Operation
Job Duties
Job duties:
- Responsible for day-to-day venue and event related services including venue booking enquiry, venue hire packages and offers, contract management and payment follow-up, site visits, client liaison, insurance and safety arrangement etc.
- Work closely with senior manager in formulating the operational strategies/workflow to ensure the efficiency and productivity. Assist in enhancing the service excellence including but not limited to develop a customer experience strategy, re-design the process etc.
- Assist to manage the revenue source and proactively reach out to different organisations or parties for pursuing new opportunities and partnership with the purpose of achieving the revenue target and occupancy rate.
- Arrange and follow-up the rental of venue equipment and furniture.
- Participate in formulating and automate the venue operations’ processes.
- Coordinate with technical team for pre-event meetings. Oversee the on-day event, monitor and direct in-house and/or casual labour to address ad hoc issues/complaints and escalate to senior management when and as required.
- Conduct post-event survey and recommend improvements for strengthening the service levels.
- Prepare operational report and management analysis report periodically.
Requirements
Job requirements:
- Diploma or above in hospitality management, event management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience, past exposure in customer services will be an added advantage
- Able to work independently with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Customer oriented and result driven. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients.
- Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including powerpoint.
- Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Immediate available is highly preferred.

Part-time Ushers
Job Duties
- Provide ushering and front of house service in theatres, assist in house rules and regulations enforcement
- Perform effective communication with patrons, guests and venue hirers
- Assist in crowd control to ensure smooth running of events and activities
- Handle enquiries and provide high standard of customer services for venue visitors
- Assist in facilities management for maintaining a clean, safe and comfortable environment for all venue users
- Update signage / poster/ publicity material for the public in the premises
- Assist with other functions as instructed by Duty Manager
Requirements
- Holder of HKDSE or above with relevant experience in customer services is an advantage
- Pleasant, energetic, extrovert and willing to help customers
- Good communication skills with proficiency in spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin
- Required to work on weekdays' evenings as well as in weekends and public holidays
- Immediate availability is preferred

Internship Programme

Over the years, Hong Kong Arts Centre has offered opportunities to local and overseas university students to gain an exciting and fulfilling experience through our internship and volunteer schemes. Our internship programme provides an excellent opportunity for their students to explore their potential through hands-on work experience, gaining exposure to the different aspects in the operation of the Hong Kong Arts Centre. The learning experience is a stepping stone to a promising future in arts administration and arts education.

Requirements
- University student aged 18 or above;
- Holder of the Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card or possess a valid visa permitting internship in Hong Kong; and
- Be enthusiastic about our vision and mission.
Statutory Minimum Wage
Have to fulfil the following exemption criteria for Statutory Minimum Wage:
- arranged or endorsed by the education institutions providing the programmes; and
- form a compulsory or elective component of the programmes.

Volunteer
Are you art lovers? Do you have time to spare? Join the Hong Kong Arts Centre as a volunteer! Our volunteers come from a variety backgrounds, helping with events and programmes and providing administrative support to the Hong Kong Arts Centre. They are also trained to give docent tours. Volunteers can participate in various types of service, depending on their knowledge, interest and availability. No previous experience is required. Let us know your availability.
Requirements
- Aged 18 or above;
- Holder of the Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card;
- Fluent in at least one of the following languages: Cantonese, Mandarin, English; and
- Be enthusiastic and enthusiastic about our vision and mission.
