Exhibition Introduction
Welcome to MaliMali Home. This exhibition centres on the character Mali, inviting you to step into her whimsical and tranquil dream world.
With minimalist lines, artist Suet-yee sketches Mali’s quiet inner life, revealing the unique and elegant strength found in being an introvert. Artist transforms imagination and fleeting everyday emotions into healing imagery—each piece acting as a window to the soul, offering a fresh perspective on the ordinary. By exploring the joy of solitude and the beauty of self-reflection, the exhibition shows that introversion is a delicate yet resilient way of being.

About Workshop
This taster workshop offers children a fun, hands-on introduction to character design, sparking their interest in collage art and creative thinking through playful exploration.
An Imaginative Adventure Inspired by an ‘Upside-Down Crown’ - Create Your Original Character!
Did you notice? MaliMali’s charming, long eyelashes were actually inspired by two "upside-down crowns." That is the magic of design—by simply changing perspectives and remixing shapes, ordinary patterns can turn into extraordinary creations.
In this workshop, we will introduce children to world-renowned collage masters such as Henri Matisse and Eric Carle. By learning how they used color blocks and shapes to tell stories, we aim to spark each child’s artistic curiosity and creative thinking.
We guide children to break free from conventional rules, focusing on visual experiments with paper and collage to explore the infinite possibilities of character design:
- Shape Flip: Who says eyes must be round? Pentagons or hexagons can also shine with confidence.
- Symbol Remix: Who says a mouth is just a single line? An exclamation mark or simple geometric blocks can become the soulful expression of a character.
- Creative Collage: By layering different colors and shapes, children will capture the whimsical ideas in their minds and collage their way to a one-of-a-kind original character.
No advanced drawing skills are required. As long as they dare to imagine, every child can be a brilliant character designer.
[Suitable for children aged 4–10]
