“Two tramps, tattered and weary, wait endlessly for a mysterious figure named Godot…”

Tang Shu-wing Theatre Studio proudly presents the Cantonese adaptation of the timeless masterpiece 𝗪𝗔𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗚𝗢𝗗𝗢𝗧 in 2025. Featuring acclaimed actors including the winner of “Best Actor” at the Hong Kong Film Awards, Lam Ka-tung; the talented actor/director/singer Chu Pak-him; popular host and actor BabyJohn Choi; and veteran DJ and actor Ngai Ping-long, this unprecedented collaboration promises an exceptional performance that has theatre fans eagerly anticipating!

Samuel Beckett, the Nobel Prize-winning Irish playwright, created the immortal tragicomedy 𝗪𝗔𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗚𝗢𝗗𝗢𝗧 over seventy years ago. This classic has not only been performed in various languages but has also been adapted into films, television dramas, and even Peking opera. The award-winning seasoned director Tang Shu-wing will translate the original script from French to Cantonese; the abstract language and unique rhythm of the play present significant challenges for both the director and actors.

This two-act tragicomedy is brought to the audience members with an award-winning creative team: set designer Yuen Hon-wai, lighting designer Yeung Tsz-yan, costume designer Jade Leung, music composer Lam Kwan-fai, and sound designer Anthony Yeung. Together, they conjure an unforgettable theatrical experience - absurd, profound, and timeless.
