XIST – Ceramic & Sculpture Showcase
Exhibition Statement
Eight students and recent graduates majoring in Ceramics and Sculpture come together by chance in this experimental exhibition. Over two months of open-minded dialogue and material experimentation, their interactions gradually developed into three distinct creative groups through both collaboration and competition.
Through processes of deconstruction and reconstruction, they reconsider established rules and explore the tensions that exist within different relationships. Through three-dimensional media, they respond to society’s unquestioning pursuit of outcome-oriented thinking, seeking to rediscover the precious nature and value of art through the process of creation.
