Urban Sound Camp
The ticking of traffic signals, the hawking of street vendors, the commotion in “cha chan tang”...we usually perceive them as "noise". Yet, in the eyes of artists, they represent distinctive notes of the city and a different form of sound art.
"Field Recording" is an audio capture process conducted in a natural setting or a specific location. In contrast to studio recording, it prioritizes capturing authentic natural and urban sounds in real-life settings, utilizing sound to document current moments and happenings.
This sound camp employs recording as a creative method to investigate the city’s sounds. Using sound art as a starting point, we will convert the hustle and bustle of the city into unique sound art pieces and discover the hidden beauty of the city.
