“The Inheritance Journey of Craft Arts at China Academy of Art”
The sharing session further focuses on building long-term exchange and collaboration between Mainland and Hong Kong in the field of craft arts, leverage on the nearly century-long development of the School of Crafts, China Academy of Art. It brings together ceramic, glass arts and other craft disciplines to explore how to strike a balance between revitalising traditional techniques and pursuing contemporary innovation, while also responding to new opportunities in art education and cultural exchange between the Mainland and Hong Kong.
The sharing context highlights artistic exchange and synergy between the two regions, and examines Hong Kong’s unique role and strengths as a centre for cultural exchange between Mainland and the world, and as a hub where East and West intersect, particularly in its craft ecology, creative industry development and public art.
