
Creative Camps & Film Production
A creative video project dedicated to ethnic minorities in Hong Kong
"All About Us 2015/16" recruited over 50 participants, who are mostly from Pakistan, Philippines and some of them are from India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, etc. The programme details is as below:
Orientation Night
Date: 23 Oct 2015 (Fri)
Venue: agnès b. CINEMA
Participants from different schools and community centres, together with teaching artists, social workers and student mentors gathered at agnès b. CINEMA for the Orientation Night on 23 Oct 2015. Teaching artist Lai Yan-chi Mo introduced the two upcoming exciting filmmaking camps in November and December. “All About Us” 2013/14 alumni Satish Kandal also shared his personal experience and his work Don’t just dream, Do to inspire this year’s participants.
3-day-2-night Creative Training Camp
Date: 13 - 15 November 2015 (Fri – Sun)
Venue: Jockey Club Tai Tong Holiday Camp
This camp aimed to inspire participants’ creativity through a series of specially designed collaborative activities. Participants were divided into 6 groups with support from teaching artists who were professional filmmakers, social workers from Life Workshop and student mentors from universities and even alumni.
Participants would be able to manage the basic skills of script writing, shooting and editing through 7 challenging workshops in order to get ready for the film production in November and December.
Film Production
Date: November - December 2015
Venue: Decided by the Teaching Artists and Participants after discussion
Participants were divided into 6 groups. They will produce creative short videos under the guidance of 6 teaching artists to learn different skills, from planning, filming, editing to post-production.
3-day-2-night Intensive Production Camp
Date: 18-20 December 2015 (Fri -Sun)
Venue: Wu Kwai Sha Youth Village
With the “36-hour Shooting Challenge”, participants had to finish a video through different tasks, such as Casting Exercise, Blue-screen task, Zombie Make-up task, etc. The sharing and screening session at Day 3 drew the exciting camp to a close.
