Price: Registration fee for the competition: HKD $290 (HKAC member: $190)

🎨 About the Competition

Hosted by Hong Kong Arts Centre, "Collaglacier: Piecing Together a Cooler World" is a citywide collage art competition inviting children and teens aged 3-17 to champion creative sustainability through hands-on art.

Piece by piece, the competition nurtures creativity and an eco-conscious world. Students are encouraged to express their thoughts on environmental protection and creative sustainability, transforming recycled materials and scavenged items into inspiring works of art. Through collage, participants can re-imagine waste as a resource while discovering the joy and endless possibilities of art creation.

Selected artworks will be exhibited at the Hong Kong Arts Centre in May 2026 to celebrate young artists' imagination and their commitment to climate action. Online tutorials will also be available, empowering everyone to explore and enjoy collage art at home.

This year's competition proudly supports the United Nations International Year of Glaciers' Preservation. By piecing together their own 'cooler' worlds, Hong Kong's youths can illustrate how small actions drive big changes — and how creativity can inspire a more sustainable future for all.

Let's piece together a cooler world — one artwork at a time.

🧊 Why Glaciers Matter to Us?

Imagine a world where rivers of ancient ice — glaciers — shape our land, store precious water, and keep our planet cool.

But today, glaciers are melting faster than ever. When they disappear:

🐧 Animals like polar bears and penguins lose their homes

💧 Rivers fed by glaciers may run dry or flood

🌊 Sea levels rise, threatening coastal cities and millions of people — even far from icy mountains

Glaciers might seem distant, but their story is connected to us all:

🚰 Provide drinking water

🌾 Support farming and local food systems

🌱 Keep natural systems in balance

When we protect glaciers, we are protecting our food, our homes, and the world that we share.

Every small action for sustainability counts!
Creating art from recycled materials is one way to help piece together a cooler, more hopeful world.

Let's journey together: from learning about glaciers to imagining a better world — one creative step at a time.
